Quila – Commissioning and start up of a biogas plant

This interesting project, on the outskirts of Glenrothes in Scotland, ferments agricultural products and waste to produce methane. This is then fed directly into the UK’s natural gas grid as a replacement for fossil fuel. Working on site for 4 months, I oversaw the commissioning of the equipment. In addition to testing and fault-finding on electrical equipment, this involved co-ordinating tanker deliveries, bringing the vessels up to temperature and purging of the gas systems.
