- ScotRenewables (now Orbital Marine Power) – Commissioning tidal device – Commissioning the electrical system of a prototype tidal device at Harland and Wolf shipyard, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
- Senvion – Windfarm projects – In charge of electrical aspects during construction of five new windfarms at locations throughout the UK. Based mainly in the Edinburgh office, with site visits during construction and commissioning.
- Sustainable Marine Energy – Panel design – Fixed price project to design electrical panels and produce schematics and BOM.
- Qila Biogas – Commission biogas site – 3 month site based role to run the final assembly and commissioning of a biogas plant in Glenrothes, Scotland.
- Albertern – Wave energy project to retrofit machine and shore facilities – Upgrade and completion of part assembled PLC system for device, plus work to modify remote site infrastructure for small scale wave project
- Sustainable Marine Energy – Subsea Device Test and Repair – Fixed price work to inspect and repair subsea drilling machine
- Mocean – Offshore Wave Energy Device – Design and construction of electrical panels. Design of cabling system. Supervision of electrical assembly on site. Interfacing with electrical suppliers. Electrical commissioning.
- Edinburgh Designs Limited – Factory Acceptance Test – Fixed price to carry out single Factory Acceptance Test on a set of electrical panels for a wave tank on behalf of the customer.
- AWS – Commissioning of a wave energy device – Site work to resolve assembly problems and carry out electrical commissioning. Mainly at Glasgow, with some commissioning at Inverness.
- Sustainable Marine Energy – Control desk replacement – Designed and built modern, PLC controlled console to replace aging and unreliable control desk for subsea remote drilling vehicle.
- Marine Power Systems – Design electrical systems for a wave energy device – Large fixed price project as a subcontractor to Sequentec. Produced detailed electrical designs for an off shore wave energy system as part of a detailed feasibility study.
- Sychrostor – Parts for prototype energy storage system – Obtained quotations and compared alternative options for 1MW motors and 11kV transformers and switchgear.
- Achelous – Electrical Design for Tidal Energy Platform – High level electrical design as part of study for off shore tidal energy platform
- Sequentec – Various projects – I have worked closely as a subcontractor on many Sequentec renewable energy projects.

- BT (formerly British Telecom) – Various engineering and management projects – As a student I worked at three sites including 6 months at Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station.
- Corus / British Steel – Electrical Engineer – I worked on the project team for a new casting plant before moving to a maintenance role. Finally I was in charge of cranes and services on the steelmaking plant, including the gas and water treatment plants.
- Pelamis Wave Power – Electrical Engineer – I worked for 10 years on the development, construction andtesting of the Pelamis wave energy converter.
